CLS (Conversational Learning Seoul, or 대화로 배우는 서울) is a volunteer organization with the goal of teaching free Korean classes on the weekends here in Seoul. Beyond Korean language classes, our goal is also to help form bonds between Koreans and foreigners, while sharing Korean culture with others.
CLS (Conversational Learning Seoul, or 대화로 배우는 서울)는 이곳 서울에서 주말에 한국어를 무료로 가르쳐주는게 목적인 봉사활동 단체입니다. 단순한 한국어 수업 그 이상으로, CLS는 또한 한국 문화를 공유함으로써 한국인들과 외국인들 사이의 관계를 끈끈하게 하는 것에도 목표를 두고 있습니다.
At CLS, Korean classes are much different from that of a hagwon or university. For one, they are much less intense. Secondly, the classes are taught by regular Korean people who don't feel the need to adhere to the model often seen in Korean textbooks. Rather, teachers at CLS use everyday situations to teach the most useful Korean language skills for people who live in Korea. Our classes are a great supplement for university students who also need everyday communication skills in Korean, as well as for those who are foreign workers, desiring to communicate better with coworkers and friends.
CLS의 한국어 수업은 학원이나 대학교의 그것과 많이 다릅니다. 첫째로 강압적이지 않습니다. 둘째, 수업들은 교과서에서나 볼 수 있는 딱딱한 형식을 고수할 필요를 느끼지 않는 보통의 한국 사람들이 가르칩니다. CLS 선생님들은 한국에 사는 사람들을 위해 날마다 벌여질법한 상황들을 통한 유용하고 실용적인 한국어를 가르칩니다. CLS의 수업들은 한국에서 날마다 소통해야 하는 유학생들, 그리고 직장동료 및 친구들과 원활하게 의사소통을 하기를 원하는 외국인 근로자들에게도 훌륭한 보충제가 됩니다.
Along with free Korean classes, CLS often hosts cultural events for anyone who wishes to join. These include Buddha's Day Festival, field trips to traditional sites, hiking, skiing/snowbording, cooking classes, and more.
무료 한국어 수업과 더불어서, CLS는 누구나 참여할 수 있는 문화체험도 종종 합니다. 예를 들어 봉축행사 (연등축제)라던가 또는 전통 유적지 방문, 등산, 스키장, 요리 수업 등등이 그것입니다.
